Programs

1. Business Training & Technical Assistance:

Helps Latino entrepreneurs and small business owners start and expand businesses that create jobs.  The program provides individualized counseling, access to capital lending programs, group workshops and a bilingual online training series that provides flexible instructions in the following areas:

  • Banking budgeting and credit
  • Business start-up
  • Legal and consumer advocacy
  • Marketing/e-business
  • Accounting
  • Human resources
  • Advertising
  • Franchise opportunities and others.

2. Emerging Leaders:

Currently 100 individuals have been identified as "Emerging Leaders".  HCCM Endeavors engage this talent by providing opportunities such as:

  1. Mentoring Youth - Serving as Role Models
  2. Social Entrepreneurship
  3. Forums for participating in public policies provides linkage "social entrepreneurship" model and integrates with program #3.

"25 on the Rise" Annual Awards program recognizes and promotes 25 emerging Latino leaders and role models under forty who work in a variety of fields and professions.

3. College and Careers Pipeline:

Programs like HCCM's Latina Development and La Beca Scholarship Award, connect Latino individuals, students, and professionals with career, educational, and business opportunities and resources available throughout Minnesota.  The program coordinates career and educational conferences, National Job and Resume postings from JOBTARGET, and a mentoring program for Latinas.  The Pipeline piece or "Social Entrepreneurship" ties back to receive services from Emerging Leaders.

4. Financial Literacy & Home Ownership:

These services help families to establish and maintain financial security and stability through sound financial management.  Certified individual counseling and Homestretch Workshops teaches Latinos how to purchase a home and access loans and other assistance programs.  Financial literacy workshops enhance the individual's knowledge of banking, budgeting, loans and personal/family financial management. Foreclosure Prevention and Renters Remedies, is a means to halt homelessness.

5. Chamber & Networking:

Activities create opportunities for individuals and businesses to communicate and connect with businesses and other organizations.  The Chamber program coordinates quarterly networking meetings, bimonthly eNews, and special events.  (These activities are 100% supported through membership dues and chamber fundraising events)
